The story behind

Brooke and Sola met in college at the University of Pennsylvania, where they clicked instantly over a shared passion for early-stage venture, consumer trends, and community building. In January 2024, the duo launched Womansplain to amplify the voices of female founders, funders and industry players in male-dominated spaces like finance and tech.

The duo started out their careers in finance, bringing together 20 years of experience in the industry, from investment banking, private equity, to credit. Both have founder and investor experience in fintech, consumer tech, hospitality, real estate and food & beverage. Together, they blend unique insights on everything from fashion to hospitality, sharing trends and fresh perspectives on the consumer world.
